Run Your First Outbound Campaign

This guide walks through creating, launching, and analyzing an outbound voice campaign from scratch. You'll have AI calling your leads within 10 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure you have: (1) An active agent configured with a system prompt, (2) A voice channel with a phone number connected, (3) A list of contacts to dial (CSV or phone numbers).

Step 1: Create the Campaign

Navigate to Campaigns in the sidebar and click New Campaign.

Name & Objective

Give your campaign a clear name like "Q3 Product Demo Outreach". Then write the AI objective — this is the most important field. It tells the AI what to accomplish on every call:

Example AI Objective

You are calling leads who signed up for a product demo on our website. Your goal is to qualify their interest. Ask about their current solution, team size, and timeline for making a decision. If they're interested, offer to book a 30-minute demo with our team. If they're not ready, ask when would be a good time to follow up.

Opening Message

Write what the AI says first. Use {{name}} to personalize:

Hi {{name}}, this is Sarah from Acme. I'm calling about the demo you requested on our website last week. Do you have a couple of minutes?

Interest Keywords

Add words that instantly mark someone as interested: yes, interested, book it, tell me more, sounds good, let's do it

Step 2: Choose Handler & Connect CRM

Select your Agent

Pick the agent that will handle the conversations. If you haven't created one yet, go to Agents → New Agent first.

Link a Pipeline (optional but recommended)

Under CRM Pipeline, select your sales pipeline. When a contact scores as "Interested", a deal is automatically created at the stage you choose (e.g., "Discovery" or "Demo Booked").

Set Outcome Actions

Map what happens in your CRM for each outcome:

Add Fields to Collect

Click the suggested fields: Budget, Timeline, Company Size. The AI will naturally extract these during conversation and save them to the CRM contact.

Choose Outgoing Number & Channel

Select your phone number and leave Caller ID Strategy as "Fixed" for now. Set channel to Voice.

Step 3: Configure Delivery

Schedule

Set calling hours (e.g., 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM). Select which days to dial. The campaign respects these windows automatically.

Concurrency

Start with 2 concurrent calls for your first campaign. You can increase this later once you see results.

Pacing

Set to Adaptive. The system will auto-pause if too many calls go badly, and auto-scale if things are working well.

Voicemail

Enable AMD (voicemail detection) and set action to "Drop message". Write a short voicemail: Hi, this is Sarah from Acme. I was calling about the demo you requested. I'll try again later, or feel free to call us back.

Step 4: Review & Add Contacts

Review the summary. Click Create Campaign. Now add your contacts:

Option A: Upload CSV

Prepare a CSV with columns: phone, name, company, role. Upload it — the system maps columns automatically.

csv
phone,name,company,role

+919876543211,Priya Sharma,StartupXYZ,VP Engineering
+919876543212,Amit Patel,BigCorp,Director Product

Option B: CRM Audience

Switch to “CRM Audience” tab. Select a segment (e.g., “Leads from last 30 days”) or build a filter: lifecycle = lead, lead_score > 50. Click “Add to Campaign”.

Option C: Paste Numbers

One per line: +919876543210, Rahul Kumar

Step 5: Launch

Click Done to go to the campaign detail page. You'll see the full dashboard. Click the green Start button.

The campaign begins dialing within your configured schedule window. You can watch progress live:

Step 7: Next Steps

Start small

For your first campaign, use 20–50 contacts. Review the results, adjust the AI objective, then scale up. You can always add more contacts later.
